Children Book design

Cheering Forest is an educational hand-drawn book for children. The story is authentic and the scene is vivid. It’s very interesting for children to read. Children can easily understand the content and remember the birds in the book.

  • Griffith University assigned me a task to conceptualize a story of Australian Wildlife animals for children aged from 5-8 years old and visually illustrate the informative narratives of their lives as educational material.

  • An educational story of Australian wildlife birds for children that illustrates the abstraction of real-life animals and forests, vibrant colors, plant mass and doodling fonts. By reading this book, the children can know the real-life birds and understand their life and natural environment.

  • 1. Birds that are lovely and personalized.

    2. A scene of communication, relationship and interaction between them.

3.Abstract forest background with round mass shapes, vibrant tone.

    4. A warm, pleasing and lively forest atmosphere.

  • After some research on the internet, I chose the most common birds that Australians can see frequently. So when children see them in real life, they know what kind of birds they are and where they live, making wildlife bird education more meaningful. I sketched different typefaces for the book name and received feedback to select the best one for the cover. Then I drew all the birds based on the research, and then I started to draw the front cover with the selected characters. I drew all birds with expressions and actions to illustrate their interaction and used handwritten statements with a doodling style tailored to kids.
