After some research on the internet, I chose the most common birds that Australians can see frequently. So when children see them in real life, they know what the birds are and what their lives are like, making wildlife bird education more meaningful. After I sketched the typefaces of the book name and got feedback to select the best one for the book cover. Then I drew all the birds based on the research, and I started to draw the front cover with the selected characters. I drew all birds with expressions and actions to illustrate their interaction and used handwritten statements with a doodling style tailored to kids.
