Personal Branding Website Design

Customer Intro

Griffith University asked me to design a website for a famous graphic designer, David Carson.  The website needs to include a description of him, his career, and why they are important to the history of Art/design, so design students can navigate as a part of design history learning. OUTCOMES: A single page, for both mobile and desktop/laptop and a multipage site, for both mobile and desktop/laptop.

Single Page Design

  • PROBLEM/GOAL

The personal documents of David Carson and his achievements in Art/design. The website reflects his personality and is consistent with his style and work. When students navigate the website, they can feel what kind of person he is and how his works influence the design history.

  • SOLUTION

    1. Use the layout, collage and handwriting style like his work

    2. Use colorful palette to reflect his cool and funny personality

    3. Use interactive elements to make it interesting to navigate

    4. Use a popular video media.

  • PROCESS

At first, I gathered all the documents online about David Carson and laid them out on Adobe XD. I reviewed all his works, personal life story and present life. I used his images to do the collage with color blocks. I did the layout like his style not to follow the grid system. I added some hover status on Adobe XD to make the navigation experience more interactive and interesting.
