Griffith University assigned me a task to design a book, ‘Thoughts on Typography and Layout’. The book will be sent to students majoring in design to read and learn about the theory of Typography and layout. The outcomes need to focus on typeface and layout design to guide students to read and understand the content of the book due to its complex concept.

The proper size of the book for design students to collect as an academic book for learning purposes. Interesting typeface and layout design guide students to understand the theories of the articles and how they can use them for their typography and layout design. Once the students read the book, they can understand the theories and use them for their learning.

I experimented with different book sizes and chose the best one for the book. I read all the articles many times as the content is quite academic and complex. So I highlighted the main words and phrases of key information with typeface design and interesting layouts. I designed the different chapters with different typefaces, graphics, layouts and colors related to their content. For the book cover, I designed a special pattern similar to a grid with the color palette consistent with the whole book. I want to help students learn the knowledge efficiently and thoroughly without stress in reading the book.
